As of August 2nd, Calvin Klein has appointed a new creative director, Raf Simons and he would start immediately. With his new collection under the powerhouse name, shown in February 2017. Before Klein, Raf was head of the LVMH haute couture brand, Dior and left just after a short 6 months. This move is a huge stepping stone for Klein, appointing a Belgian designer, who never went to school for fashion design and one who has never worked in the states. At Klein, Simons is to over-see the creative direction of Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Premium, Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans, Calvin Klein Underwear and Calvin Klein Home.Macy's plans to close 100 of its stores, moving its business online https://t.co/JYZlJ6yilS— francisca evelyn (@rosesandcaviar) August 11, 2016
This can be potentially both a good and bad thing for a company as big as Macy's. Known through the states, Macy's is the go-to department store for the middle class. There is a grand majority of the people that would rather see something in person before actually buying it. Macy's new strategy is too eliminate 100 of it's stores and move its business online. This action is in light of it's recent failing sales reports as it competes with online and off-price retailers worldwide. For the people currently employed for years under Macy's can see a huge red flag coming there way as they set to close those 100 stores within the upcoming months.

Alexander Wang to be the next designer to partner up with Adidas https://t.co/6udBaupWEc— francisca evelyn (@rosesandcaviar) August 13, 2016
Although both Wang and Adidas have been very quiet about their new collaboration is it said that it will be shown during New York Fashion week, Sept. 10th at 9PM. Wang will be the latest addition to the Adidas family in which they have collaborated with designers such as Raf Simons, Rick Owens, & Yohji Yamamoto. Many of these collaborations are long standing and end up having more than one release. Yamamoto started his relationship with Adidas back in 2001 and then the following year, together, they launched the streetwear brand Y-3. It's not a tremendous leap since Wangs brand is rooted with a slight sportswear aesthetic. For example, his collaboration with H&M in 2014 was all athletically driven. It is no surprise that Wang would team up with Adidas, like many designers before him.
